I received this book from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
When a letter from his supposedly deceased mother finds its way into his hands, life changes in an instant for international pop star Bodhi Beckett.
Reeling from the deception of those closest to him, Bodhi spirals out of control and is sent to a secluded mansion in the coastal mountains of Southern California for some rest and relaxation. But the retreat proves to be anything but relaxing when a raging wildfire sets the landscape around him ablaze.
While escaping the flames, Bodhi rescues Breeze, a quirky, pet-loving woman, and together the two fight their way to safety. In the aftermath of the fire, Bodhi and Breeze hit the road to uncover the truth about his family. What neither of them expected is to forge a powerful connection that will change their lives forever... but can it survive the real world, or will it disappear like the wind?
World-famous boyband singer meets hairdresser / pet sitter in the direst of situations. The start of something good or not? Like The Wind tells the sweet and charming story of Bodhi and Breeze, I’ve enjoyed it very much.
“This meeting of the minds was no accident. Breeze and I had been brought together for a reason, and I was committed to finding out why.”
Boyband singer Bodhi is doesn’t know what to do anymore. He has worked in the entertainment industry basically his whole life, and it didn’t do much good to his relationship with his dad/manager. Add to that the re-appearance of his long-lost mom and you have the perfect recipe for disaster. Breeze is over the betrayal from her ex, but it still stings a bit. She’s content with her life as it is, but secretly she wants more. When Bodhi and Breeze meet during a tragedy, they form a bond quickly. And it’s impossible to deny their chemistry…
“How often did a girl like me get the chance to converse with a guy like him?”
I love Bodhi and Breeze. They are both good, loveable people who deserve everything. Bodhi might be a famous singer and all, but he behaves himself (most of the time). I feel so sorry for him; I fully understand all the questions he has and the pain it causes. Breeze is a sweetheart who got betrayed the worst way. I think she handled everything pretty well. Bodhi and Breeze are a charming couple, you just want them to end up together.
Because I read a lot, I love to find new authors whose stories give me that little escape from reality. J. Bengtsson is such a new author for me, and luckily this isn’t her only book. I have enjoyed Like The Wind very much. I love the writing and the way the author has written the characters. They’re not perfect, they just act like real-life people with insecurities and all. This is definitely not my last book by this author.
“We had forever. Bodhi hadn’t said as much, but there was no way I was letting him go. Not again. Not ever.”
