I received this book from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
In Nashville, country stars are a dime a dozen.
I swore I’d never get caught up with one, but Boone Thrasher made a liar out of me.
I said I’d never put my heart on the line, but he didn’t ask before he stole it.
Now we’re facing my worst fears, and we'll see if this country boy is tough enough to see it through.
Girls like me don’t get happily ever afters… but maybe he’ll prove that wrong too.Real Sexy is the conclusion of the Real Dirty Duet and should be read following Real Dirty.
Real Sexy starts where the previous book in the Duet – Real Dirty – left off. After Real Dirty I had a lot of questions (and some ideas), part two gives all the answers. And not all is what is seems… Boone and Ripley are still hot and heavy, and I love the conclusion to their story.
“Game over. I’m done. She’s it. The one. Now I have to make her fall in love with me.”
Although Boone has known Ripley for a short time, he knows she’s the woman for him. And while Ripley wants to believe she deserves a nice guy who’s all about her, her old insecurities and thoughts rear their ugly heads. Boone really has to work himself back into Ripley’s good graces; to earn her trust and to prove he’s the guy for her. Besides the whirlwind romance there’s a lot more going on in Real Sexy. Nasty exes and horrible family members are causing troubles, and Ripley suddenly finds herself in promising situation with an old acquaintance.
“I won’t let them keep you out of my life.” He releases my wrist and his hand slides around to the small of my back. “We’re just getting started, sugar, and I won’t let anyone take that away from us.”
I know Ripley had her fair share of bad luck in the past, but sometimes I wanted to shake so sense into her. Sweetie, Boone is into you. Please stop the internal mantra you’re not good enough. YOU ARE! Boone is just swoon worthy. Yes, he’s over-the-top and all, but I really like him. I love how all worked out in the end; for Boone and Ripley, with new careers and answers to some very important questions. It was good to see some of the characters from previous books, they’re still crazy and lovable. My only comment; some situations where solved too nicely, I expected a bit more.
“You really do love me,” Ripley says, her tone hushed. “You’re just figuring this out?” She shakes her head and wraps her arms around my neck. “No.”
I’ve enjoyed reading Real Sexy, I give it 4 stars.
