I received this book from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Princess Lenora Celeste Beatrice Arabella Pembrook had an unusual childhood. She was raised to be a Queen—the first Queen of Wessco.
It’s a big deal.
When she’s crowned at just nineteen, the beautiful young monarch is prepared to rule. She’s charming, clever, confident and cunning.
What she isn’t…is married.
It’s her advising council’s first priority. It’s what Parliament is demanding, and what her people want.
Lenora has no desire to tie herself to a man—particularly one who only wants her for her crown. But compromises must be made and royals must do their duty.
Even Queens. Especially them.

Years ago, Edward Langdon Richard Dorian Rourke, walked away from his title and country. Now he’s an adventurer—climbing mountains, exploring jungles, going wherever he wants, when he wants—until family devotion brings him home.
And a sacred promise keeps him there.
To Edward, the haughty, guarded little Queen is intriguing, infuriating…and utterly captivating. Wanting her just might drive him mad—or become his greatest adventure.

Within the cold, stone walls of the royal palace—mistrust threatens, wills clash, and an undeniable, passionate love will change the future of the monarchy forever.
Every dynasty has a beginning. Every legend starts with a story.
This is theirs.
Last year I devoured the ‘Royally Series’ by Emma Chase. I loved the couples and their sweet stories. One of the most intriguing side characters was Lenora; the Queen and grandmother to Nicholas and Henry. With Royally Yours we get her story; her transformation from princess to queen, and how she finds the love of her life.
“Every dynasty has a beginning. Every legend starts with a story. This is ours.”
Lenora is a young girl with a huge responsibility. As the oldest daughter of a king she will become a queen one day and everything she does and learns is about her future ‘job’. Not very surprisingly, Lenora is lonely, with few people around her who she can truly trust. When her father dies, life as she knows it is over. From now on it’s all about duties, protocols, rules and political intrigues; something a 19-year-old doesn’t like. One of Lenora’s duties is finding a suitable husband (the horror), something she just isn’t ready for. Meeting the older brother of her closest friend however, changes everything.
“Something about her intrigues me—this beautiful, guarded woman, who rides wild in the woods when she thinks no one is looking.”
Like the other books in the ‘Royally Series’, Royally Yours is a sweet story about two young people falling in love and make it work for them. Of course, this book also has it sad and ‘oh no’ moments, but it doesn’t take away from this enchanting story, it gives more meaning. Royally Yours is not just about Lenora and Edward, it’s also very much about Lenora finding her way to become the queen she’s destined to be. I love reading about Lenora and her Edward, even knowing she’s a widowed grandmother in the previous books.
“My mind has finally caught up to what my body already knows. These strong arms… his arms… will always keep me safe.”
Lenora kind of has two sides. To the outside world she’s the smart and dutiful princess, but the people who really know her see a much more vulnerable girl. A girl with dreams and hopes of her own, also about falling deeply in love. Edward walked away from his aristocratic title, wanting to find his own way in the world. When the two of them meet during an awful time, there is an attraction, but they don’t act upon it. The timing is off, and there are things like promises, traditions and expectations. When Lenora and Edward finally are ready to become a real couple, sparks fly. They’re an adorable couple; ready to start their dynasty.
“Hand in hand, heart to heart, side by side, Lenora and Edward.”
