I received this book from TRSOR Promotions in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Sage Mayson had Kimberly Cullen once, and the memory of that brief encounter has tortured him since the moment he pushed her away. He should have followed his gut, but he didn’t, and now he’s left watching the woman he wants more than anything from afar.

Kimberly vowed to protect her heart from Sage, but when her sister is murdered and her world starts to fall apart, he’s the one person she finds herself leaning on.

Getting a second chance is something Sage knows is rare. He’s not going to squander the one he’s been given, and he won’t take no for an answer when it comes to making Kim his.

But what Sage doesn’t know is Kim has a secret that could leave them both devastated and heartbroken.

Until Sage is the second book in ‘the Until Him Series’ by Aurora Rose Reynolds and tells the story of Sage (the son of Nico and Sophie from Until Nico) and Kim. Like the other Until books it’s an insta-love story with a sexy Alpha guy and a sweet heroine. I love it.

“Science says it only takes four minutes to fall in love with someone. I didn’t believe that was true, until I met Sage Mayson. ~ Kim”

Kim recently moved to Tennessee and loves her work at the salon; doing hair, make-up and the works. She has grown up with a loving mom and dad, but discovered in her late teens she’s actually adopted as a baby. And the bigger shock, she has an identical twin – Kelly – who grew with their mother. Kim often wonders how their lives could have been. Herself not being adopted, or that both of them grew up in a normal family. Kim doesn’t believe in love at first sight, but meeting Sage changes that.

“There’s no way in hell I would do it again. But that doesn’t mean my heart has given up on the idea of him. Every time I see him, I remember exactly what I felt in those moments we had together.”

Sage is a young guy working for his cousin’s private investigators firm. Like Kim he’s adopted, but unlike her, he and his sister are both taken in by their parents. Like the other Mayson boys Sage has always heard the stories of ‘the Boom’, and he can’t wait for it to happen to him. The moment he meets Kim and gets to know her a bit, Sage knows she’s the One. However, a nasty twist of faith in the form of Kim’s sister causes some serious problems, and Sage knows he messed up, royally.

“I thought for a moment she could be my future, but then shit went down and I thought she was a liar and just as fake as the rest of the women who’ve come into my life. I should have known better.”

The moment Kim and Sage meet they both feel a spark. Kim is a little hesitant at first, but in a very short time she trusts Sage. Sage falls for Kim fast, and he sees her as his ‘boom’, the woman he wants to spend his life with. When he learns the truth after he cut her loose, he feels very bad about himself and how he didn’t believe Kim. Kim isn’t sure she can be with a man who treated her so badly, but Sage is doing everything to win her back. Kim and Sage are a very sweet, loving couple with some hot moments, you know they belong together.

I love Until Sage. It has all the good parts of the original Until Series, but minus the ‘bad’ parts. I love that Sage isn’t a ladies-man like his father and uncles, and that there isn’t any ex-girlfriend/hook-up drama. That doesn’t mean there isn’t any drama and Kim and Sage don’t have problems. They do, very much so. But like in the other Until books all is solved, so the couple can have their Happily Ever After. While I hated Kelly for what she did to Sage (and Kim), I also felt sorry for her. While Kim and Kelly look very much alike, the circumstances they grew up in – Kim with loving parents, Kelly with a druggie mom – made them who they are behavioral-wise. And Kelly didn’t get a fair chance.

“If he could give me the world, he would do it. But like I said before, I don’t need the world. All I need is him.”

I love the sweet, sexy story of Sage and Kim. I give Until Sage 4 stars.

Excerpt

“He apologized. Don’t you think you should do the polite thing and at least hear him out?”

“I don’t know.”

“You don’t know, or you’re just too scared to find out what will happen if you do?”

“Do we have to do this right now?” I sigh, and he tosses his arm around my shoulders and pulls me into his side.

“We’ve been doing this for months now. I’ve seen the way you look at him when you think no one will notice, and I see the way he looks at you, not giving a fuck if everyone sees. Even when he thought you and I were a thing, he still made it perfectly clear to those who were watching that if by some chance he got a shot, you would be his.”

“I really think you are reading way too much into this.”

“Am I?”
