I received this book from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
The Mount Trilogy concludes with Sinful Empire!
What’s mine, I keep, and that includes Keira Kilgore.
It’s no longer enough to have her in my debt. No longer enough to own her body.
I want something more.
She can try to resist, but I’ll never give her up.
Nothing will keep us apart.
Not her. Not my enemies. No one.
Her debt will only be paid one way—with her heart.Sinful Empire is the third and final book in the Mount Trilogy.
Finally, Sinful Empire, the conclusion to Keira and Lachlan’s story! After some crazy twists and turns, the king and queen get their Happily Ever After at last, fitting to the dangerous world they live in. I love it!
“I don’t deserve you.” He believes what he says. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to change his mind, but I’m going to do everything I can to show him he’s wrong. I lean in closer to him. “Luckily, that’s not up to you. It’s up to me, and I’ve already made my decision.”
Although they spend some time apart during the book (not relationship-wise!), Keira and Lachlan are still as strong as ever. Lachlan is coming to terms with the fact he’s falling in love with Keira, something that he thought would never happen. He knows his world is a dangerous one with no place for attachment, but Keira is it for him. Keira is growing in her new roll as queen to Lachlan’s king, she embraces her new life with all she has. Of course her whiskey distillery is very important to her, but Lachlan is taking main stage in her heart.
“Everything is temporary. I no longer accept that when it comes to her. She’s mine. She’s staying mine. Even my black heart couldn’t handle losing her. I will keep her safe with my very last breath, if necessary.”
Sadly, Sinful Empire is the last part of the ‘Mount Trilogy’. I’m going to miss Keira and Lachlan, but hopefully I’ll see them again as side-characters in future books. There where a bunch of unanswered questions from the previous books, and in a whirlwind of twists and action all answers are given. Some I saw coming, but others really took me by surprise. The dark world of Lachlan Mount isn’t my thing, but I totally get Keira falling in love with him. And maybe, she and Lachlan aren’t that different; both are fearless, driven people who don’t care what the rest of the world thinks of them. And together, they are unstoppable.
“This is as real as it gets. You and me. We’re in this for life.”
I’m currently reading this series, Marieke. Loving it so far. Glad that you loved it. Thanks for sharing. Awesome review. 😁❤️
